The WesternU family was elated to celebrate our 2022 graduates in person for the first time in two years.

Over 1000 graduates celebrated from the safety of their home in our second year of virtual ceremonies.

1,071 students graduated in eleven virtual ceremonies. University and college administrators worked diligently to celebrate our graduates amidst the unprecedented crisis.

President Pumerantz became one of the longest-serving university presidents in the United States. Of all the doctoral degree-awarding institutions in the country, he is the third-longest-tenured president at 36 years, 8 months.

In 2013, 958 students graduated from WesternU and celebrated its 10,000th graduate.

Acclaimed actress Betty White gave the keynote address at the Commencement ceremony to the 516 graduates from WesternU.

The College of Veterinary Medicine graduates its first class.

This academic year, the campus Esplanade was completed, along with the addition of a fountain located at the center of campus.

In 2006, 423 students graduated from WesternU.

The Student Government Association implemented electronic class elections through Blackboard.

In 2005, WesternU celebrated its 5,000th graduate along with a graduating class of 421.

One of WesternU’s student clubs raised over $2,000 for the devastating South Asia tsunami from December 2004.

The 2004 yearbook was dedicated to the firefighters who battled the Grand Prix and Old fires that threatened the surrounding area.

In 2003, 415 students graduated from WesternU.

Dr. Jon Fong, a 1984 COMP graduate and technical advisor to the television drama ER, gave the keynote address.

WesternU and the surrounding downtown Pomona area served as filming backdrops for the the major motion picture, Dr. Seuss’ “The Cat in the Hat.”

In 2002, WesternU celebrated its 4,000th graduate with a graduating class of 435.
